It is best to book as soon as possible to have the greatest chance of securing your preferred session time. The studio is generally booked out for portrait and pet sessions a month ahead, with Saturday sessions being the most popular and therefore booking out first.

You will be contacted by one of our staff to discuss your preferred session time and also to discuss what you want to achieve out of your session. You will be emailed a contact form, questionnaire and contract. Once these are completed and received by the studio your session time will be confirmed.
A 15-30 minute design session will be organised (either in person at the Jo Howell Studio or over the phone)this covers things such as outfits, styling, props and backgrounds.
We will be available to answer any of your questions prior to and after your shoot by email and phone.
One of the wonderful things about Jo Howell Photography is the variety of backgrounds we offer at the one address.
During a standard one hour shoot you have the option of including two different backgrounds, these can be two different indoor backgrounds, two outdoor backgrounds or if weather permits one of each.

We will choose 30-40 of the best images from your session for you to view.
At the end of your portrait session, we will arrange a time for your sales session. This is generally 7 days after your portrait shoot. This viewing will be at the Jo Howell Photography Studio. Your session images will be projected at high resolution in our theatre room. We use specifically designed software that aids you in viewing, compiling your favourite images and we are there to help design and select artwork to suit your personal style and budget.
Due to time constraints we can only offer one viewing session per a photographic session, therefore it is important for all decision makers to be present at this time. As there are decisions being made we suggest that this is a child free meeting, this is to ensure you can concentrate on making the right decisions without distraction.
We offer you a selection of tried and tested premium products. From table top products such as albums and acrylic art bocks, through to wall art such as canvases and framed prints. We balance affordability with longevity and quality. Our images will become part of your family history and are designed to delight future generations.
Jo Howell Photography prides itself on being a “full-service” studio. We don’t just shoot your session, hand over the digital images, and leave you with the daunting task of choosing what to do with them. We take your precious photographic memories and turn them into true art to display on your walls as canvases and other premium products, such as albums or a collection of beautifully presented matted prints.
We do however, understand that digital files are desired by many. So we offer digital files of any images purchased, and if you have to have them all (we know you will want to) digital negatives are available as a set.
We offer a variety of quality products, in different styles and sizes. Prices start from $150 for a mounted print to over $3000 for our largest pieces of premium wall art. From our experience most people invest between $750 and $3500 on their custom artwork.
We accept cash, direct bank deposit, eftpos and credit card (note no AMEX). 50% deposit is required at the time of ordering and balance required before collection of final artwork. Interest free payment plans are also available.
